i-Design at the London Design Festival

Three years and growing ...

i-Design is now in its third year at the London Design Festival. This year we have moved to a new, larger venue at the Old Cinema, in the University of Westminster, bringing us closer to our partners NMK whose home is in the University. The Old Cinema has a unique heritage in presenting cutting edge new media that extends back over a century. The University was formerly the London Polytechnic and was itself the very first Polytechnic in the UK, and the Old Cinema, which is housed in the original Polytechnic building on Regent Street just North of Oxford Circus, was the venue for the first showing of a moving film to the paying public. You can read more in the venue section.

Films from i-Design 08 – it's all about meaningful interaction

The first two i-Design conferences were held in the Purcell Room on London's South Bank. The first, held in 2007, was the culmination of a year of events produced by Dynamo London for the interactive design community in London. Its success led to Dynamo being invited to continue to host what is still the principle event for digital and interactive arts, design and media at the London Design Festival. Last year's presentations were filmed by Ian Smith of Irascian, and can be seen below.
